Advent has begun. Today you will light the first candle on your advent wreath. That little candle is representing alot. The first purple candle symbolizes hope. Hope is one of the three theological virtues in which we desire happiness in heaven and eternal life. You long or hope for heaven and eternal life. You hope to see the face of Our Lord, to feel his presence.

Hope and trust go hand in hand. You really can't have hope without trust. You must trust in the Lord even when times are rough and things seem hopeless. But where a door is shut, another door is opened. But it is only opened if we trust and hope in the Lord and look to Him for guidance.
